TWEED RIVER by Smithy

Brad still fishing Gold Coast waters, this week he chartered in the Nerang river system and put his customers onto flathead, giant trevally, bream.

The best lures were Pontoon 21 crackjacks, Ecogear ZX40’s, and Samaki Vibelicious 70mm forktail.

GOLD COAST RIVERS by Clinto

Some tough days this week I found in our local estuary waters, with fish activity down after the flathead classic.

Tailor are still biting at Jumpinpin

Later in the week the action improved with a variety of fish and squid boated. Using live yabbies and Ecogear Isome worms worked well in the clear, run in tides. On the run out Samaki vibes, Ecogear ZX40’s, and our new blade lure worked well.

Jett caught his first ever tuskfish

New blade vibe, available soon in our store goldcoastlures.com

Best areas were Crab island, Sovereign island, Runaway Bay.

20-30 mm of rain is forecast this coming Tuesday but the rest of the week is looking ok. With the neap tide sizes and times I’ll be having a go for flathead, whiting, and bream on the shallow banks in the Southern broadwater.

Tune in every Saturday morning 5-6am on 94.1 FM when I chat to Paul Burt and give fishing tips on his new radio show.

This week we chatted about the flathead classic and what worked well for our team.
