GOLD COAST ESTUARY FISHING REPORT by Clinto

Another busy week of charters every day. The week started off well with good fishing on the run in tides, as they got later the whiting and flathead fishing was harder in the dirty run out tide water. There was still big numbers of fish to be caught, but they were mostly bream and tarwhine, and we caught grunter as well as a few jew.
The weather has been better, and we have full moon coming up so the fishing should get really good. The water North of the seaway is clean on run in tide, and there has been flathead, tailor, whiting, winter whiting, flounder about while up Nerang river it is still muddy looking as Hinze dam is still overflowing. Run in tide is by far the best fishing there still. It’s very hard to catch beach worms as 600 million tons of sand was washed away by the cyclone. The broadwater yabby banks however are in pristine condition.
