GOLD COAST ESTUARY FISHING REPORT by Clint

14 February 2026

How good is this rain! 🌧️

Some areas copped more than others, but here around the Nerang River the water has turned that classic tea brown colour today. Not quite flooding rain but enough for a good flush of creeks and there are some weirs overflowing.

What does this mean for the fishing? Well it has been pretty good all summer already with enough showers to keep things going, and now it will get even better. The bigger whiting will get pushed downstream for a few weeks, and the flathead will appreciate the cooler water. Mud crabs will be on the move too. Hotspots for me will be Southport, Seaworld, Currigee, Crab Island, and the sand bank North of the seaway North wall, as well as wading the yabby flats when the tides are right.

This coming week I only have Thursday available, then the following week just Tuesday and Wednesday still available, and just five dates left this month. Next available weekend dates are 22, 28 March.

Come experience some great light tackle fishing fun!
