GOLD COAST ESTUARY FISHING REPORT by Clinto

Another round of Southerly wind arrived this week but it looks like easing on Sunday. Despite the wind and swell there are still tailor to be caught on the protected beaches from Palm Beach to Tweed heads.
In the estuaries there are widespread flathead but the water is still cold and they come on the bite as the day warms up. There are still lots of arrow squid in the Southern broadwater and tailor, sand whiting, and winter whiting. We are approaching the time of year when day time tides get bigger. Big run big fun!
The wind and swell should see lots of bait pushing into the broadwater and it could be great fishing next week.
