GOLD COAST ESTUARY FISHING REPORT by Clinto

2 November 2024

The fishing fired up in the broadwater leading up to new moon on Friday. The water is very clear and fishing the deeper channels with vibes has been producing nice flathead, school jew, bream, trevally, and hairtail.

While on the shallow yabby flats there has been good numbers of whiting ranging from 30 to 42cm, and some luderick ,bream, and flathead. At night the whiting are on the chew up the river on run out tides using bloodworms and beachworms. There are also huge numbers of grunter in the river.

This coming week looks mostly sunny with light to moderate North to North Easterly winds, and day temperatures up around 30 degrees maximum. I have next Wednesday, Thursday, Friday available and the tides are good for fishing the island flats either wading for whiting or casting lures for flathead. For any new bookings for these days I’m offering an extra hour of fishing free, as well as free Gopro footage of the trip.

There are plenty of fish out there including some monster whiting.  Catching them is a lot of fun and great way to get a fresh feed. We’ll also be having a crack at big flathead in the shallows with My Lure Box soft glide lures.
