*Whiting in numbers

*Early season rain flush

Dad joke:

I used to have a swear jar, but I changed it into a pessimism jar. Every time I get negative feelings, I put a coin in it.

It’s currently half empty.

TWEED RIVER by Smithy

Brad is still fishing Gold Coast waters this week, mixing it up between the broadwater, Nerang river, and the lakes.

After his return from a barra trip up North he caught flathead, bream, and trevally on charters using a mixture of Pontoon 21 crackjacks, Samaki vibes, and Ecogear ZX40 lures.

To book a private charter with Brad call him on 0419 028 704 around 4-6pm daily

GOLD COAST RIVERS by Clinto

The whiting really fired up in numbers this week, the rain we’ve had probably helping. In the channels there are winter whiting everywhere, thousands of them.

We had a fun day with Odette and her mates from the Southport rsl fishing club, catching over 80 fish on Ecogear Isome worms, and yabbies.

Lots of whiting

Video here:

On other days I fished the shallows for sand whiting, which is great fun on ultra light tackle.

We also filmed a segment on whiting wading with Paul Burt for his show “Step Outside with Paul Burt” which will be coming up on tv soon, on the 7mate channel, and online.

This coming week the tides will suit my flats charters, and there is good flathead and bream turning up over the banks as well as the big sand whiting. Almanac is low this week but that means nothing if the fish are hungry. The water temperature is rising again after it fell in the broadwater, now up to around 24 degrees, big higher up Nerang river.

I only have one day still available this week, and that is Monday 25 October. SMS asap 0432 990 302.
