TWEED RIVER by Smithy
G’day everyone the large tides really induced some great fishing this week. We really mixed things up and used a variety of techniques such as some shallow and deep water trolling with pontoon 21 cracks and slams.
We also did some deep water jigging with samaki and zx 40 vibes and also threw some splash prawns across the surface. Providing we don’t receive too much rain this summer season I plan to really step up my topwater charters as surface fishing is so much fun.
The species caught this week were flatties, bream, whiting, trevally, school jew and a couple of little mangrove jacks.

GOLD COAST RIVERS by Clinto
This week the good tailor bite continued, they are still feeding on the massive schools of white bait that are hanging around the broadwater north of the seaway.
There are lots of legal sized tailor and the best lure for them has been Zman 3 inch minnowz in opening night colour. Just look for the diving birds during run in tides and you’ll find the tailor. They are one of my favourite fish to eat.
There has also been trevally, flathead, whiting, flounder, and plenty of bream over the flats and all hitting Zman ST Grubz, Prawnz, and Minnowz in opening night, houdini, beer run, and green lantern colours. Water temp is still around 24-26 degrees in the broadwater.
We have some typical king tides around Christmas before they drop off next week, then we should see some excellent whiting fishing on the shallow flats.
