GOLD COAST ESTUARY FISHING REPORT by Clinto

How good is it to see nice weather! Way overdue and long may it continue. My favourite months of the whole year coming up from June to September, with lots on offer in the Gold Coast broadwater and Nerang river.
The squid are later than recent years, as the water clears more and gets colder they’ll come on in the next few weeks. We have been catching a few small ones on blades, and lots of fish including mulloway, winter whiting, whiting, bream, dusky flathead, bartail flathead, fringe eyed flathead, trevally, tailor, pike, flounder, tuskfish, tarwhine, barred grunter, spotted grunter, snapper.
The new Samaki blades have been a stand out lure, as have the MMD pop prawn soft plastics.
This coming week I still have Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday available. After new moon on Tuesday it’ll be worth a go for squid, flathead, flounder, whiting, flathead, tailor and others on blades, vibes, and soft plastics.
