GOLD COAST ESTUARY FISHING REPORT by Clinto

23 November 2024

Again this week there were plenty of good size sand whiting in the Nerang and Coomera rivers as well as on the flats in the Gold Coast broadwater.

Here at Bundall we had over 100mm of rain since last night, the water was starting to clear but will get dirty again now. Any more rain in coming weeks will only improve the whiting fishing further. The weather in the week ahead looks good, and the fishing should fire well.

The mangrove jacks were firing up but will slow down a bit with the cooler weather we’ve had. The river water went from 28 degrees back down to 24. There are heaps of bull sharks around for those who like chasing them, and sand and mud crabs will be active as well.

I have this Sunday and Monday available, perfect red hot tides for wading the clear shallows for monster whiting on ultralight tackle! Exciting fishing, get in touch now to book in before they’re gone. Nerang river will fish well too for good size whiting, grunter and more.

Charter options in coming weeks:

River whiting on worms

Broadwater flats whiting on yabbies

Broadwater flats with My Lure Box paddle glides for flathead

River trip with livies for bull sharks, jacks, trevally

Trolling canals with Samaki redics

Broadwater, river with vibe lures for variety

Crabbing broadwater for blue swimmers

Crabbing Nerang river for mud crabs

Next available charter dates are Sunday and Monday then Friday next week.
