GOLD COAST ESTUARY FISHING REPORT by Clinto

Some good run and good fun lately with a mix caught including whiting, tuskfish, jack, mulloway, grunter, bream, trevally, sharks, and tarwhine. This coming week looks good for chasing big whiting on the flats and also in Nerang river. The pest ponyfish are moving back upstream, anywhere from benowa and up is full of the useless things. This week the fishing should keep improving, especially when Hinze dam stops spilling.
Lower down if you keep moving there are lots of fish to be caught and even the odd squid. The water has cleared up nicely in the broadwater and looking good, hopefully the heavy rain holds off for a few weeks to give us a good run of catches on light tackle, which is so much fun.
