THIS WEEK’S GOLD COAST AND TWEED ESTUARY FISHING REPORT AND NEWS

structures that hold water.

I was like well damn.

TWEED RIVER by Smithy

G’day everyone it has been a very rough week weather wise with constant rain squalls as well as gale force winds and abnormally large tides. The tides were that big the tweed river broke its banks in places and covered some roadways, carparks and up over the people that live on the rivers lawns.

James caught a few flatties before the wind and rain forced us off the water
Will with his best ever flattie caught trolling a pontoon 21 crackjack lure

Due to the disgraceful conditions I had to postpone almost all of my work this week apart from one shortened up charter where we managed to find a great little patch of flatties before the wind and rain drove us of the water, thankfully this weather event looks like tidying up on Sunday so I am looking forward to getting back in the game next week.

GOLD COAST RIVERS by Clinto

I haven’t fished this week at all! It doesn’t happen very often, especially in peak season but ex cyclone Seth continued to be annoying enough to make it windy and rainy.

It looks much better this Saturday onwards, and a great relief that we are past the king tides too. I’m not a fan of the big tides and although there are ways to fish them (the canal I live on has been going off with big bream on the run in tides) I prefer normal tides, especially for whiting and flathead on the flats.

Great morning tides this coming week so I’ll be either wading the shallows for monster whiting, or fishing the channels around crab island for tuskfish and flathead on Ecogear ZX’s and worms, Samaki vibes, and live yabbies.
